Description

This artwork is the newest and last one I will submit in a long time to GFXartist. I will probably be involved in an illustration project and will not be able to submit my artworks before the book I draw for will be published.

Anyway:
This is my probably most detailed work I have ever done.

It took my a month of non stop work, but I am pretty satisfied with the outcome.

It was a commission and the character is copyrighted to Lisa Lassiter. :)

I cannot count how many hours it took me, but well, MANY.
Everything painter, several references used and the fields on the bg are pretty manipped being honest cause I got lazy ;]

Anyway I hope you enjoy the picture, comments are always welcome!

The creature's soooo cute! and it's scale arrangement is very professionally done.

Also, the hair...really nice flow

my full mark +7!

Really amazing piece of work, probably your best, and passing that much time on details really paid off. Love the light and shadows and the colors you used. Really like the flow of your lines too and the touch of realism/fantasy... Great work! +7/7 :)

Hope you got paid well for transferring the copyright. You should think about licensing your art rather than selling full copyright. You work to hard to just give it away.

This is a really good image except that the big feet and small hind quarters make the dragon look a little goofy. Love the details. +7

Your work is really beautiful - however your faces always remind me of your own face (the one from the banner anyway :)

Her body seems a bit off though - her leg is completely from the side and so is her head Her chest however is turned slightly towards us. I tried to do that pose myself and it was kind of very uncomfortable and very hard to do.
But then this is fantasy art ;)

Her face and hair are breathtaking.

Not bad at all! Unlike your other works this actually look hand-painted, even the hills, I only knew they're manipped after I read your description. Some crits, rocks on the left are too smudgy, the creature looks very pasted on, especially on the bottom, lots of places suffer from compartmentalized colour. I don't think you really need the sparkly bits in a broad daylight setting like this, though that's kinda nitpicking.

Congrats on the illustration job too!

it's obvious you spent a lot of time on the woman, because she's great, I don't have anything to crit on her, but she doesn't seem to fit with the background and the dragon. I agree with whoever said the dragon looks goofy because it is out of proportion with itself, the head is as long as the tail and the lifted front leg doesn't bend like an animal's would. I think you could fix it very quickly by lengthening the tail, shrinking the head and raising the hindquarers.

All in all though you should be very proud of this work!

Oohh this is SO beautiful! I love it!! Wow, a whole month? I really need to spend more time on my art. XD Anyway, wow, this is gorgeous! And I disagree with all the comments on the dragon looking funny. - Seeing as dragons aren't really exactly reaaalllll, who says you can't make it look like whatever you want it to? :p Anyway, this is awesome! Great job! 7/7++++!

Note that this is only a friendly critique, and I must admit that the picture is overall very very successful.

Little bit of an anatomy flaw (but this can be ignored if you imagined the beast that way): the bottom of the animal should have been scaleless, or with softer scales, and definitely brighter. Hence would this make underneath the neck brighter, as well. You might have thought about this already, but still, any reptilian anatomy you study (even fish anatomy and avian anatomy, and some mammal anatomy) this generally holds true.

The figure and pose are lovely, but the fact that the animal looks like a complete 3D generated figure (which it's not) steals from the feeling of reality the picture is trying to give.

The hind legs of the animal could have been a bit thicker to catch the anatomy; the laws of physics is simply against the girth they have right now. The animal won't be able to run fast, and beyond that, won't be able to survive in any environment.

Such a small body also can't balance out the weight of the neck and the head, and hence would cause the animal to fall forwards. No matter how strong the neck muscles are, the animal would have extreme difficulty in trying to feed the brain with enough blood (unless, just as it's predicted with the certain dinosaurs, this animal has a secondary heart to pump blood up the neck).

Overall: you did an excellent job with the human (elf) figure, but the anatomy of the beast is a bit off.

I like the background though, good (and not overdone) details.

On a second thought, the right breast of the female figure seems to protrude a little bit too much. This might be because the shoulders are turned towards the POV, whereas the waist is stabile, and the poor breast just could not decide where to point at.

Her face is like a magnet. It'd make a stunning image all on it's own. Great work!

HOW ARE YOU NOT ELITE?This is lovely. Love her legs. The dragon could have a little more contrast in my humble opinion, but I am just saying that to counter what I said first. Im confusing myself now.+8

Great work with the girl .. but she's a little bit to dark in contrast with the rest of the image .. I don't really like the dragon though .. his pose is too static and he just looks .. WEIRD :p

nice one, even if you could have cropped the upper part to be the image, because the lower part looks kinda wrong, maybe because of the shadow/lighting of her leg, and the dissappointment about the small dragon thing...

other than that, great workout!
