Description

Two lovers set apart by the God's enviousy, who trapped the boy for eternity in the misty forest. Lead by delusive hope, the girl begged the Gods to let her into the forest to find her beloved. For the girl's sadness and desperair were so overwhelming, the Royal Spirits agreed.
Without sleep or rest she has been searching for him throughout day and night.
Soon, as the months passed by, out of loneliness and obsession, the girl began to lose her mind. She is now speaking with trees and flowers, hearing her lover's voice in the nightingale's song, seeing his shape in blades of grass.
Her once great love turned into hatred, as in her madness, she has blamed the boy for the whole misery she was going through. She is now therefore hunting him, seeking revenge for her disastrous fate.

So uhm yeah, I present my newest work

It took me a long long time to finish, but at the end I am very proud of it. You will also be able to buy a printout of it (as well as some otherartworks)

Technical info: ~50hrs for the drawing process, ~3hours for the poem&story, bg is mainly manipulated (using custom textures as well) ^_^

Well I can't help I am attracted to the same things she is. And I don't quite thing it's a flaw. She is my idol, yes, BUT I am not copying her style (her faces are way more candy-like than mine just for a note).

Erm... yeah, I like it too, but there is too much of a cutout feel in the whole piece, particularly regarding the bird, which is not integrated in atmosphere to the surroundings. The figure and the soil don`t look integrated either (yet). Having said that, it`s obvious you have some serious talent and taht you enjoy doing this works, so please check those (important) details so this piece can really be perfect!

I agree with augustopatino. Particularly the shadows. The shadows on the ground should be at least as dark if not darker than the shadows on her gown. I am really impressed with the gown. Good job. A little more work to make the whole piece come together and this is perfect.

looking at it and reading it reminded me of enayla, U have done a brilliant job at this one. This is ur best work yet. The story fits like a glove, It explains the source of her facial expression. the birds tail is marvelous and oh that dress, that dress, sign. love it

Wonderful artwork. That dress is beautiful, both the design and how you rendered it.

As for the integrating the characters with the BG, you might want to consider adding a touch of backlighting? Especially since there's some bright light going on in the back.

Her outstretched arm looks like a bit of a dead pose, (someone's already commented about the bicep) but this is being extremely picky. My first impression was that this was Enayla inspired, but that's perfectly all right. You show a lot of your own original creativity in this piece. It's very well done.
People aren't wrong when they say you deserve elite status- you've got excellent talent. Keep up the great work!

Nice color overall (though the bird could indeed be more integrated into the color scheme), good textures, especially the cloth - but there's something odd about the exposed body; face and arms and shoulders. As if it were a Poser model or the like. Stiff shape. Un-flesh-like folds. Strange.

I like it! There looks like theres a tiny outline in front of the face, and I wish I could see a larger version to to make out what it is, but it actually looks pretty neat like that! Good work! Lots of detail! Post up a larger version if you can.

Weee, I can see it! Tis very lovely! I especially love the sheen you got into the dress. Very realistic, something hard to pull off. Only thing is that she has long legs, but that seems to be the thing to do these days, so it's not a big problem. keep up the good work!

But it's a bit aut of concept, don't you think? I mean, you said that she is sad and in despair, but she looks more like upset or angry to me. The clothes are stunnig. Which paradoxicaly bothers me too. You say she is searching for her lover in the wood. Months has passed... Hmmmmmm, I don't know, but this dress seems to me like laundered lately. What about some rips and tears? She's been months in the woods!

yeah definitely Enayla-esque, but infortunately talent and genius are missing. This looks like a mixture of different elements of Enayla's works that wouldn't fit together!each element seems to have its own lighting and overall it makes the painting look like a big collage.

Beautifully rendered! I love the choice of color, the expression, and especially the bottom part of the dress. Some parts of the foreground that should be crisp are a bit fuzzy, but that is unimportant really because it isn't your focal point. Great job overall!

Hm, agree with stuff that has been said before.. the elements don't quite fit together for some reason. Either you used a very diverse selection of photo reference or you worked on the entire piece one object at a time. This isn't bad, but maybe you should rethink your working method a bit.

Also, there is something strange about the structure in her skull, on the right side. I'm not exactly sure what it is since I don't draw people much myself.

Ahh...I particularly like the flow and patterns of her dress and her cool hairstyle though I definitely can see some ways you can improve. Firstly, her chest looks kinda flat. You might wanna add a little more curve to her body to make her look a little moreâ€¦should I say, natural [I am NOT a fetish person though]. And her facial expression isnâ€™t exactly sad. She looks as though sheâ€™s posing for a photo with an aggressive, huntress-look upon her faceâ€”but thatâ€™s kind of a personal opinion, so whatever. And the birdâ€™s talons sort of bug me. You can make the talons a bit biggerâ€”you know a giant bird like this will find it hard to stand itself upright with tiny talons. But other than that, good job. Oohâ€¦lovelyâ€¦*runs after those tiny wisps*.

I don't get why she's wearing a prom dress and has a bird on her arm...doesn't match the story. She looks really stiff and plasticky, too. The background suffers from photographic resemblance. There are some odd discrepancies in the floor, too, as if they were cut out and then repasted with a different hue setting. Nice shading and decoration work on the dress.

well if more than 70% of a pic are just parts of differents photos togehter with some colourmaps its simply a photomanipulation and not a painting.
if i rise my gamma settings i can easily see that:

1. the tree is a photo
2. the whole background is a photo (using dust&scratch filter on it dont helps to hide it much)
3. the clothing consist of 2 photos
4... and last (but sure not least) the whole chick is a photo (as easily can spotted on the right arm,... smuding around abit on the left arm cant hide it). seems pretty much as you have used a photo of yourself.

so plz dont try to pretend that you can paint and release your future stuff as that what it is... a photo manipulation.

This is beautifully done and definitely going in my favorite artworks! Your style is so awesome. I love the colors you use and how realistic you make the fabric look. I wish you would add more lighting to the piece though like reflecting on her skin or something...might add a bit more of a fantasical/mythical feeling to it...just an opinion though..honestly it's gorgeous as it is. I like the little glowing fairies...and the bird...dang I just like it all.

This is a great example of a High-level photo manipulation, It looks great, in spite of the obvious "paste marks" which can easily corrected with a bit of air-brushing/smudge-blending. ...
Some hues could've been corrected before making the collage, as it is too time consuming doing it at this stage..
Great job all around, I couldn't do better ...

fuc©1n unlogical theme ... you think she will dirt her dress out there?, she need to get a shorter skirt, or do you feel ashame of painting legs?, HEY its no problem, show the to me - on the otherhand she need a weapong or item to surfwive, She is a fairy or something isnt she?, can the bird bake bread or hat?... Do be so unrealistic, i understand if you dont paint a ford pickup to the background, but you could give her a bike!!!

Words cannot properly describ how this picture makes me feel. Aside from obvious jealous of the craftsmenship, i get a feeling of giddy mischeviousness. I believe that is partly cause of her expression which says to me "An you are?" To me, the straplessness of the gown suggest vulnerability while the mistic bird perched so offhandedly on her arm suggest protection. The choice of color helps to give this picture a sence of mystic. I dont think i've conveyed my feelings right, but its as close as i can get. Never the less, this peice is well done and worth a high rate. You did beautifully. thanks for sharing.

Wow. This is truly amazing. I happened to be scrolling through some pictures when i came across this one. This picture made me join the site just so i could leave you a comment. I almost cried it was so amazing. Her face is gorgeous. If you could somehow put a little more wanting into her eyes. But I can almost see the maddness and sterness building up in the sturcture of her face. This is truly a beautiful picture.
