Description
Oh, paint the white of my wedding dress grieving blackFor a widow I am, not a bride!
Mourning over my youth forever buried in the depths of these tombs,
As a flower dies without a sip of dew,
I wither away without the warm breath of my beloved sun.
****
Well, that's an outcome of a non stop few day work. I have decided, that I need to work a LOT on the anatomy and skin shading of my characters, and so I tried, in this one, to work the hardest I can on it.
I have done a lot of studies (mainly consisting of looking at myself in a mirror ;P), tries etc before even beginning to work on this.
I cannot, unfortunately, publish a full WIP of the work, as it's going to be published soon, but I am still sharing some sketches and closeups and a tiny tutorial
Done in Painter7 and Photoshop CS.

Maybe it's just a stereotype, but I think her ankle is a bit too thick (we call em' cankles in the US
You've mastered fabric no doubt...how about stepping out of that comfort zone and trying for say...transparencies or even transparent fabric
Keep up the good work, and thanks for the extra links.

I believe the rocky background is actually a manipulated photo. Am I right?
07/12/06 @086
There are some slight anatomical 'mishaps'
but they are metnioned so I wo't go in repeat
I think the the greyish shadow on her right shoulder
is a bit out of place.
The lighting and details are awesomeness.
You did use a photo for the background right?
Ah well, I could be very well mistaken as youre so talented

As for fixing, as far as publishing goes, it's a bit too late, but I think I might fix it for my personal satisfaction
As for the background, no, it's not a photo. I couldn't place a full rock texturing tutorial, as that is a part of the publication, but I tried to put a few tips in the link you can see attached.
The background is just some really easy to paint smudges and custom brushes made BASING on rocks (made a custom from my own rock photo). I still don't think it counts as "manipulation" cause it's painted... Or am I wrong?

And just out of cutiousity, how long have you been painting? I have just began experimenting with photoshop, and I hope that a few years down the road I'll be as good as you
